It seems like I have always been running. It, has been my comfort, inspiration, exercise, release, work, and joy beginning as far back as grade six (thanks Mr. Hart).

Running as a metaphor has great power for me. In my teens and 20s I ran away from myself and from responsibility. These days I mostly run toward life's challenges rather than away from them.

The poster at left was given to me by my best friend in high school. I have put it up wherever I have lived since then, often drawing hope and strength from the caption.

I hope when my time comes that I will be able to say with St. Paul that I have fought the good fight, that I have completed the race.

What grounds you?
I am a Life-Long Runner
The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

About Me
"Mr. Mandela has walked a long road and now stands at the top of the hill. A traveller would sit down and admire the view, but a man of destiny knows that beyond this hill lies another, and another. The journey is never complete."
- F.W. de Klerk, on the occasion of Nelson Mandela's rise to power in South Africa
